In my current job I am in daily contact with parents and pass on any relevant information to the school as and when required. I am familiar with the individual medical needs of the pupils that are entrusted to me daily. In my previous employment I received first aid training, and I am confident in dealing with any minor first aid as required. When there is a relief driver on board the bus, it is my role to advise the driver of the route and the needs of the pupils. As with all jobs I am aware that paperwork is a vital part of the information process and I complete and submit all forms to the best of my ability.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at P & O since joining the crew in 2005, and this was reflected in my excellent attendance record and punctuality. I quickly recognised the excellent opportunities for career development through training and promotion within P & O, as you can see from my achievements. I really enjoyed being part of a ships crew (a team member), as we got to know each other very well and adapted to new members of staff very well.
During my years with P & O a large part of my job was ensuring that the area in which I was working was kept clean. As I worked in various sections of the ship these cleaning duties varied from cleaning floors (both polished and carpeted surfaces), cleaning toilets, dusting, polishing and emptying bins. I am aware of cleaning regulations including wearing protective clothing/uniform/ flat-soled enclosed-toe footwear (if required) and the COSHH regulations. It is also very important to use and care for all cleaning equipment and report any damage/faults.
During my years whilst working for P & O, I was involved in two major incidents onboard ship. In June 2009, my team leader and I found a passenger who had hung himself in the toilet cubicle, we performed first aid and CPR on the passenger; and in 2011, a passenger fell down the stairs, whilst disembarking the ship, due to my muster number I was the first crew member on the scene and I put him in recovery position checked his pulse until a manager came and ambulance arrived. Unfortunately on both of these occasions the passengers passed away. Whilst these cases were very extreme and stressful, my professionalism and maturity helped me to cope and I returned to work, soon after.
I always work to the best of my ability and when asked to take part in any events/opportunities, I give my services willingly and have always tried to help those around me. I thoroughly enjoy learning new skills and meeting new people.
Outside of work I have a keen interest in sports, mainly football, swimming and weights. I take part in these activities on a regular basis to help me keep fit and active. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and trying out new recipes, which is why I loved working along side the chefs on the various vessels. I also enjoy reading and spending time with my friends and family.
Throughout my activities I have a lot of responsibility, which I take very seriously and carry them out impeccably. I have made a lot of new friends and learnt to work closely with others. I have proved to myself that I can be reliable and trustworthy.
I am fully flexible with my working hours and I am willing to participate in any trainings / courses that would help to further my knowledge and help with my understanding of your company.
