In my years of service in the Navy, I worked in three areas: Logistics, operations and ship repairs. 14 years on board floating units, occupying general service positions food, accommodation, and basic services, operational service on the bridge (command during the navigations), later in the operations area (ship operations, navigation systems and communications systems) as the head of armament, head of navigation and head of operations, in charge of the conduction of the ship, shipment of material and berthing. As the Ship’s Commander, I was responsible for the entire ship. The excellent performance in the positions awarded me a nomination to work in Brazil in a project for the operational recovery of the ship weaponry, communications and electronics. It was great opportunity to gain experience in the technical specifications of ship construction, military and civilian standards. Developing knowledge in accommodating the ship installation of electronic equipment and ship structure, among others. Graduated in Engineering in Naval Systems with specialization in navigation, conducting navigation in restricted waters (channels in the south of Chile, navigating the narrow channels from Valparaiso to the Cape Horn and return) this navigation was preceded by two months of practices in the integrated bridge simulator in the center of training for officers from the Chilean navy. In addition it was certified with the basic IMO courses for operation on merchant ships.
