Born in Lübeck, Germany on 03.06.1966 and now living in Espoo, Finland I am holding a German and Finnish passport and I am fluent in German, English and Swedish language. Communication in English belongs in my position as Master to my daily routines as well as working with a PC and MSOffice. In my present company we have used TITAN and now DANAOS as PMS. Nevertheless I’m familiar with AMOS-D, which was used on Maersk/Sealand vessels during my time at Hanseatic. Graduated from Hamburg Polytechnic School of Maritime Studies with a polytechnic degree in nautical science / transport and business studies in shipping, I am holding the German and Liberian license of competence in the rank of Master and the certificate of competence as SSO. As requested by STCW I am also holding the GOC, the certificate of basic safety training, advanced fire fighting and the certificate of proficiency in survival craft and rescue boat. Furthermore I am holding a HAZMAT Training Certificate and certificates for attending courses in ship handling and operation of ULCC up to 400m, bridge-management, incl. ship handling and crisis-management. Working at sea since 1982, as Chief Officer from April 1997 to April 2004 and as Master from April 2004 until today, has brought me in close contact with all rules and regulation concerning shipping. During my time at Wärtsilä Diesel and Speckmann Logistics I was in charge of the planning, organisation and execution of project cargo (mostly break bulk and power plants) Since August 2001 I am employed by E.R Ship-Management, Hamburg on containerships up to 8500TEU. In November 2013 I was appointed as Training Master inside the ER fleet, focusing on energy efficiency, MSPS, KPI’s (especially on vessels chartered by MAERSK), MLC, PMS, ISM and SMS.
