Hello! My name is Leonid. By education, I am Ship's Cook and Baker. Also, Ihave the highest university
grade, I am an engineer in the automatization of chemical technology. I`ve just returned home from my
last contract, was working as a Head Chef (equivalent of CampBoss on Offshore Fleet) onboard Ro-Pax
Ferry Spirit of France P&O Ferries Company between France (Calais) and England (Dover). It was
already second contract with this company. One hundred crewmembers and up to 2500 passengers. So.
By my Supervision were 10 Cooks, 2 Pot Washer and around 8 Stewards.Was feeding not only Crew,
but also all passengers, there are 6 passengers outlet, where passengers are eating. It is really very
responsible and important position onboard. All counting, reports, weekly inventory, daily reports to
Senior Managers, daily counting’s of wastage and usage of the products from all areas, almost every day
orders, inner inspection and Food Safety and Hygiene Inspections from Port State Control, making
Menus and preparation process, all paper work and hundreds more duties were on my shoulders. I have
gained really important and useful knowledge’s from this contracts, as well as I been enrolled by
company for innumerous trainings, such as Food Safety Supervision at Sea Level 3, Appraisal Process
Certification, Crisis Management and Human Behavior, Cyber Security, Crowd Management and much
more. All of them passed successfully and received certificates. But I need to move ahead and frankly
speaking, I am 40 years old and now am a proper age for Chef to realize as a professional and
personality and to achieve Highs and earn good money, don’t want to spend my golden years useless. I
took from P&O as much as possible and many thanks for them, but I keep moving and developing.
Talking about background experience, for almost all my previous contracts I worked onboard offshore
vessels. The biggest crew that I was feed, were onboard Big Pipe Layer, in 2019. It was Nord Stream 2
project, at the Baltic Sea,
Anglo-Eastern Shipping Management Company. There were almost 270-300
crew members onboard. Galley Department consisted of 15 Cooks and Baker. The galley was working
24/7/365. Different people, various cultures and people almost from all over the world. It was a truly
rewarding and valuable experience.
Now, I am interested in permanent working place with a stable and serious company. I want tobe sure in
my future, want to work with pleasure and interest. My goal for future is to become a Executive Chef and
I am sure that will be. But culinary it is really my passion.
Let me introduce my skills, knowledge, and background experience in brief.
After graduation from the University, I was working as an engineer and translator at Ship RepairYard.
Then I spent a few years in Italy, where I improved my Italian language and received a grade as a
Sommelier. One of my contracts onboard a passenger vessel of MSC I was workingas a Wine Keeper and
Assistant Sommelier. After this I’ve connected my life with Sea and started my Culinary Education,
because whole my life I am interested in this sphere. I started from all the beginning, from lowest positions
onboard, and after almost 14 years at Sea Catering I became real Chef.
Few words about health. In general, I have good health, without any complaints, do not smoke,do not drink
alcohol, and do not use any drugs. I don't have any chronic or inherited diseases. I practice yoga and
meditation; therefore I am sure in my mental health.
The fact of having two highest educations, technical and humanitarian, suggest that I am a
comprehensively developed person, always trying to find a common language with any personand
support the conversation on any topic and express my opinion on any issue. I am a very psychologically
flexible person, in the service sphere and especially in Catering it's very important. Besides, I am a
positive-oriented and easy going person and really driven by results, always wanted to ensure that the
guests and crew get the best service I can offer. To my mind, it is very important, both to me personally
and for the company to provide excellent food and a positive mood.
In conclusion, I have all international maritime documents, certificates, Offshore Medical
Examination, fluent English, Advanced Italian, Native Ukrainian and Russian and Basic Spanish, fully
vaccinated. Mediterranean, European and Asian cuisine – I am really good in these three, aswell
as in
a Bakery Art.
