Dear Sirs. My name is Hendrik Jaansoo, I am born in 1987 in Estonia and moved to Stockholm, Sweden in 1999. Already then I started to get an interest for sailing. Most of my free time in summers I spent with my family on our sailing boat. Through the years I and my family sailed a lot in Baltic Sea, in Swedish archipelago, Estonian archipelago, Finland and Åland archipelago. From 2004 – 2013 we traveled through European channels and the Mediterranean. In the Mediterranean we explored several areas from France, Corsica, Elba, Italian East Coast, Sicily, North Eastern part of Italy, Croatian coast up and down, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Malta and last but not least Sardinia. I have also sailed with a schooner T/S Constantia at the Tall Ships Race from Kotka, Finland to Stockholm, Sweden in 2007. I started my education in Nautical Science in 2007 at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg and finished in 2012. During onboard training time I did try out all the different duties onboard a vessel like rust removing, painting, correcting charts, steering a vessel in narrow waters and having navigational watch. I have also worked at Stockholm Port Construction Company where I got to work with different moments of berth works as joining/fitting and paving. I got also to do maintenance on fairway buoys and sanitation of Stockholm’s waterfront water. I am a member of a Sea Scout group Träkvista Sjöscoutkår in Stockholm since 1999 and a scout leader since 2005. I am also active volunteer in Swedish Sea Rescue Society since spring 2015. I am generally cheerful person who likes to learn new things. I am a person who always wants to do well plus finish the job properly. I always try to explore all options before making a decision. Thanks to that I have worked with different kinds of jobs in shipping industry, I have gathered experience which can be valuable in a future position. I want to take on new challenges with a new job on larger vessel and the sea. Thank you, for that you have taken the time to read my application.
