I am a hard working, conscientious, reliable and self motivated individual with the ability to communicate effective both oral and written. During my time at College and at sea have shown me I enjoy working with people and also as part of a team with the ability to relate to all kinds of backgrounds. I am able to act on initiative and unsupervised, being able to prioritise my own work schedule and work well under pressure and to timescales given. I have proved to myself to be a trusted member of staff who ensures confidentiality and professionalism at all times and believe to have the ability to be a highly skilled Marine Engineer. At College involved keeping up to date with changing legislation and procedures keeping accurate records which required high attention to date. I completed this to the best of my ability and was chosen to represent the MEF at the Annual Chamber of Shipping Dinner. During my time at sea, I gained invaluable experience in the daily running of the engine room and also working life at sea. Knowing when to act on my own initiative and when to ask for advice proved invaluable. I am able to take order from others but feel confident enough to include my thoughts and ideas to improve the job at hand. During busy period I have the ability to remain calm and have excellent organisational skills to ensure all jobs are given the attention they require. One of my strengths is making sure a job is done to the best of my ability as I like to follow jobs through from conception to completion. From all my sea trips I received excellent feedback and outstanding references. In my spare time I enjoy keeping fit by attending the gym on a regular basis. I also enjoy travelling and socialising with friends. I have a clean driving licence and enjoy vehicle and machinery restoration.
