In the previous company, the rank 4th Officer is an additional 3rd Officer who shares respondibilities with this. As 4th Officer I have been directly responsible on the maintenance of the lifesaving appliances and fire-fighting equipment on board vessels, according to SOLAS regulations LSA Code, Fire Safety System Code and specific Company Safety Management System; I have been involved on planning emergency procedures and crew member emergency duties as well as the familiarization and training of crew members with the use of safety equipment and ship emergency procedures. I have also perform administrative duties assisting Masters on crew documentation, and vessel documentations and certificates.
