Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assisting in Navigation Operations: Assisting in steering and monitoring during navigation. Standing as a "watchman" on deck while sailing or mooring. 2. Participating in General Maintenance: Painting metal parts to prevent rust. Cleaning the deck and equipment. Maintaining ropes, chains, anchors, and rigging. 3. Loading and Unloading Cargo: Assisting in lashing and unlashing operations while the ship is moored. Participating in securing and distributing cargo. 4. Emergency Work and Training: Participating in emergency drills (such as evacuation or fire drills). Responding to any emergency situations as directed by officers. 5. Other Miscellaneous Work: Transferring messages or tools between departments. Providing support when needed to officers or skilled seamen. Required Skills: Physical ability to perform heavy work. Commitment and discipline in following instructions. Some knowledge of basic seafaring skills. A spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Qualifications: Basic seafaring qualification (such as a Safety and Security Certificate). Medical fitness and a marine health certificate.
