I am Sergo Gurgenidze a 23-year-old sailor from the beautiful coastal city of Batumi, Georgia. I reside in Batumi at Lane 15 on Fridon Khalvashi Street, though I spent my early years growing up in Khelvachauri. My passion for maritime life was sparked by the stories of my uncle, a chief engineer, whose experiences and dedication to his work inspired me to follow a career at sea. I have a deep admiration for sailors, crew members, the ocean, massive ships, and the incredible chance to travel around the world. This inspiration led me to Batumi State Maritime Academy, where I studied at the Faculty of Navigation, graduating in 2023 with a comprehensive understanding of navigation, maritime regulations, and ship operations. I have 12 months of hands-on experience aboard both a training vessel and a Crude Oil Tanker have honed my practical skills.
