Dear employers, I would like to present to you my questionnaire with a description of the vessels on which I worked. I gained work experience on the Liteyny and Ligovsky Prospekt oil tankers. The regions of work were very different, including oil transportation from the Russian port of Primorsk on the Baltic to European countries, and transatlantic voyages from the port of Muuga in Tallinn to South America and the Caribbean, as well as transportation of oil from oil terminals of Latin America to The Gulf of Mexico, also had voyages to Africa. Sometimes we unloaded oil on SPMs (Single Point Moorings), sometimes we took oil from the FPSO in the Gulf of Mexico. The tanker moored to the stern of the FPSO, our tanker did not have a DP system, so our vessel had a tug from our stern. A cargo floating hose for unloading oil was wound up by another tug to our manifolds located in the middle of the vessel. Also sometimes we had STS Operations (Ship To Ship), we unloaded or took oil at VLCC. ("Belokamenka", "Samco Asia", "Samco America" and others). Also when entering and leaving the port of Primorsk in winter, the tanker worked in cooperation with icebreakers, and we also carried out work to prevent ship icing. Many times I carried out manual control of the vessel in cooperation with the pilot, both during calls and exits to the ports, also during the passage of the tanker straits, visits and exits from the bays. My duties on these contracts included carrying the navigational watches on the bridge together with a OOW (Officer On Watch), manually controlling the vessel if necessary, taking part in mooring operations, keeping watches in ports, monitoring cargo lines, measuring cargo tanks, taking oil samples from tanks, working on deck under the supervision of the boatswain and other works.
I have worked out 3 contracts on an LNG tanker. On this vessel I worked 3 contracts. This gas carrier performed long sea voyages between various gas terminals located in different parts of the world. Sometimes in pirate-dangerous areas (Strait of Aden, Gulf of Guinea, Indonesia). The duration of the sea voyages between the two ports sometimes amounted to 2-3 weeks. Anchorage was rare and short. My duties differed according to position of the ship. At port, at sea, at anchor or drifting. In the ports I carried four-hour (4/8) watches on deck together with the second sailor (OS). During the watch, I kept under control the tension of the mooring lines. I made constant rounds on the deck, monitoring the condition of the cargo line connections for leakage of cargo (liquefied natural gas, methane). Sometimes I worked on ship cranes while taking supplies, provisions. While on watch, I used the portable radio station (UHF) and Multi Gas Detector (devices was safe and approved for using on this type of vessels). The Watch Officer was in the CCR (Cargo Control Room) and exercised overall leadership. At sea, my duties included keeping a watch on the bridge with the Watch Officer and working on the deck under supervision of the Bosun. During watchkeeping I’m performed duties as the second lookout to the OOW (Officer On Watch) and reported the approximate bearings of the ships, and other objects, sound signals and lights. Sometimes, for example, during pilotage or difficult turns, I’m performed duties as the helmsman. My work on deck it’s paint, repair, chip rust, clean, maintenance in good conditions deck machinery and other operations under supervision of Bosun. At anchor I made the rounds of ship and reporting about tension and direction chain anchor. These responsibilities are not limited to.
On sister shipping Melampus, we went to the Europe Yamal navigation regions, later we were STS off the coast of Norway, where we received cargo and delivered it to Europe.
Velikiy Novgorod - On this contract I had the same responsibilities as all my other contracts on LNG carriers (described above).
Christofhe De Margerie I have worked out 2 contracts, this vessel had Ice classes Agc7 and the vessel was equipped with three azipods . Where we carried out passages along the Northern Sea Route. On this vessel, I gained experience working with Azipots, managing them , and working in cold conditions of subzero temperatures . On this vessel I received a recommendation to the Boatswain.
