Job description
Attend to all electrical defects received from vessel Follow up for planned maintenance repair of electrical electronic installations onboard all the company vessels Ensure safe working practice is followed at all level of operation and stop any person from performing an unsafe act Ensure 4 numbers of DP2 vessels are in compliance with local client requirements Maintain a list of electrical equipment s available on company vessels Assist Technical Manager to develop PMS for electrical electronic equipment s onboard vessels Ensure all the company vessels are following the PMS for all electrical electronic equipment s Follow up for any electrical defects raised from vessel Check that any company or client s electrical electronic equipment mobilized on board is suitable and compatible to the vessel electrical supplies and complies with Rules Regulations and Standards for electric equipment Monitor the spare part stock for electric electronic equipment maintained onboard Follow up for any maintenance of DP system Follow up for any electrical findings arising out of third party inspection of vessel Monitor the technical ability of electrician s onboard vessel and make a appraisal report for same as appropriate Detail of electrical equipment s onboard every vessel to be maintained in office Ability to implement and monitor planned maintenance of electronic equipment Ability to provide remedial actions to outages affecting electronic equipment especially DP and communications equipment and keep the open defect reports related to electrical equipment s to minimum Ensure inventory of electrical stress on all the vessels are up to date Motivates electrical staff to comply with HSE and SMS objectives and requirements and monitor the number of safety observation cards related to electrical operation maintenance Reinforce and strengthen the HSE culture at every level of operations Promote correct HSE behaviors through personal example Take action upon any health safety and environmental matter brought to their notice and report to their Manager on any matter which they are unable to rectify Ensure a safe working environment for employees under their control Assist in all safety inspections to ensure that the workplace is maintained in a safe and tidy condition Ensure as far as is reasonably practicable that the work place is kept free of potential hazards Ensure that risk assessments are carried out Evaluate processes and activities for the presence of hazards Assess record and control the subsequent risk to a tolerable level Ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with health safety and environmental legislation and Company policy plans and procedures Ensure workers under their control are kept informed of all relevant information to ensure their Health and Safety and the protection of the Environment Pleasant disposition with the capability to be authoritative when necessary Clear and effective oral and written communications skills in English language Experience with the electrical electronic equipment s used onboard vessels Thorough knowledge and understanding of principle discipline and peripheral subjects Strong coordination organization and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues Total commitment to carrying out safe working practices Diploma or Degree in electrical or instrumentation engineering Minimum 1 year experience of working ashore for a marine management company OR 2 years as ETO onboard vessel DP Maintenance Certificate is preferable Valid Medical Certificate
